<div itemprop="description">QUENNELL, George Gordon &ldquo;Whitey&rdquo;<br />January 20, 1926 &ndash; December 19, 2015 Passed away peacefully at Banwell Gardens after a brief illness, just one month short of his 90th birthday. Born in Wallaceburg, ON to John L. Quennell and Marguerite Linn. Reunited with his beloved Theresa (1995) and his much loved daughter Elizabeth Minardi (2000). Predeceased by his brother James and sister Anna. Gord will be lovingly remembered and missed by his daughter Mary Lou and son John (Cathie). Father-in-law to Nick Minardi (Vincenza). Special grandfather to Theresa Harper (Michael), Nicole Fortier (Chad), Heather Thibert (Keith), Jenny Thibert, Darren Quennell, Curtis Quennell and Jillianne Quennell. Special &ldquo;GG&rdquo; to Tess, Ava, Sean, Luke, Nicholas and Finn. Brother-in-law to Tom Mailloux, Mary Mailloux and Frank Abramovich and the late Robert (Nora) Mailloux, the late James, the late Pat (Toni) Mailloux and the late Lynn Abramovich. Often called &ldquo;Whitey&rdquo;, Dad bled Chrysler blue, retiring after over 43 years with the company. While he was still able, he enjoyed his golf, gardening, card games, crossword puzzles, scratch tickets, the Southwood Hotel and Pro-Line, but most of all he was happiest puttering around his garage at 929 &frac12;. Visitation will be held at Janisse Funeral Home (1139 Ouellette Ave 519-252-5225) on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. A special thank you to the staff of Banwell Gardens for the kindness and care they showed to Gord over the last 5 years and also to true friends and great neighbours, Charles and Lil Long. Donations in memory of Gord may be made to the Windsor Firefighters Benefit Fund.</div>
