<div itemprop="description">After a long and courageous battle, Leonardo passed away peacefully on January 28, 2017 at the age of 78, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Michela (nee Maniscalco) for over 51 years. Loving father of Enzo & Cheryl, Tony & Vittoria and Filippo & Sandra, Cherished nonno of Michela & Tim, Leonardo & Jennifer, Marissa, Isabella, Olivia, Daniela, Selina, Sofia and Silvana. Dear brother of Giuseppina (Pietro), Carmelina (Pietro), Manfredo (Angela) and predeceased by Francesca (Leonardo). Sadly missed by many family and friends in Venezuela and Italy. Leonardo was a member of the Caboto Club for over 25 years and the Montallegro Heritage Foundation. He retired from Chrysler and was proud to have belonged to Local 444. Papa loved to spend time in his garden and he was well known for his fig trees. Nothing made him more happy than spending time with his family. He was enormously proud of his sons and lived for his grandchildren. The family would appreciate donations to the GBS/CIDP Foundation of Canada (Guillain - Barre Syndrome) or St. Angela Merici Church. Special thanks to all of Papa's Healthcare professionals that looked after him for the last 16 months. Funeral Visitation at Janisse Funeral Home (519-253-5225) 1139 Ouellette Ave., Windsor on Tuesday, January31 from 2-5 & 7-9 pm. Parish Prayers at 4:30 pm. Funeral visitation to continue at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 1 after 9 am until departure for Mass at St. Angela Merici Church at 11 am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.</div>
