Maria was born in Poggio Picenze, L'Aquila, Italy on April 11, 1920 and died peacefully on March 6, 2016 at Seasons Royal Oak Village, LaSalle. Beloved wife of the late Pietro (1998) for over 58 years. Loving mother of Len and his wife Barbara of Farmington, Michigan and Carl and his wife Marjorie of Windsor. Cherished Nonna of Leslie Davis (Lee), Stephanie Hipp (Brian), Kimberly Pallozzi, David White (Melanie), Christina (Frank) and Kimberly (Jeffrey) . Bisnonna to Kavan, Andrew, Jayden, Alexa, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Avery, Zoey, and Benjamin. Dear sister of the late Berardino Damiani and sister-in-law to Velia Speranza of Etobicoke. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, U.S.A., France and Italy. She immigrated to Windsor in 1954 on the Andrea Doria. Maria was always a kind and gentle person and was truly devoted to her family and her faith in God, praying the rosary daily. The family would like to thank Seasons Royal Oak Village in La Salle for the excellent care and love of Maria. In kindness, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation as your expression of sympathy. Visiting at Janisse Funeral Home, 1139 Ouellette Avenue, Windsor (519-253-5225) on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 3 to 8 p.m. with parish prayers on Friday at 4:30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: Friends are requested to meet the family at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Saturday, March 12, 2016 for further visitation from 10 a.m. until the hour of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Entombment in Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
