<div itemprop="description">FANTETTI, Nicola <br />After a courageous battle with Alzheimers Nicola passed away at home on March 1st, 2015 in his 84th year. Loving husband of Filomena with whom he recently celebrated 62 years of marriage. Beloved father of Maria and husband Leonardo Catalano, Luigi Fantetti, and predeceased by his son John (1990). Dear Nonno of Nick and Anthony, the late Tony Catalano (2014) and wife Zena, Sonya and Houssein Zaidan, Bianca and Andrew Antonucci, Nick and fianc&eacute;e Ashley, and Felicia. Proud Bis-nonno of 8 great-grandchildren, Salina, Marissa, Joseph, Ariana, Leo, Gia, Adam and Anthony. He was the youngest of 6 children, all of whom have predeceased him. Nicola was born in Bonefro, Italy and later immigrated to Windsor to build a better life for his family. He was a proud retiree of the City of Windsor Public Works Department and member of CUPE Local 82. All his life he worked with his hands and enjoyed the outdoors. He will be remembered for his love of family, his strong work ethic, his passion for wine making and maintaining a beautiful garden. We the children would like to thank our mother for her determination in taking care of Dad at home during the past few years. Her loyalty, dedication and perseverance is an inspiration to us all. A very special THANK YOU to Dr. Bill Pignanelli for his extraordinary care and compassion over the past few years and Dr. John Minardi for his support and kindness whenever our Dad was admitted to Windsor Regional Ouellette Campus. We are also grateful to PSWs Michaela and Doriane from Revera Home Health for their amazing care. Visitation will be held at Janisse Funeral Home, 1139 Ouellette Ave., Windsor (519-253-5225) on Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will begin from the funeral home on Wednesday March 4, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. to St. Angela Merici Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family as an expression of sympathy. Online condolences may be left at www.janissefuneral.ca. <br /></div>
