Pietro Argiro
June 5, 1917 - March 24, 2014
96 Years. Died peacefully surrounded by his family on March 24, 2014 at Windsor
Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus. Together again with his soulmate of 54 years the
late Teresa Argiro (2006). Son of the late Ilario and Carmela Argiro. Loving and devoted
father of Lina Knowler of Windsor, Gioia Levesque and husband Mark of Tecumseh, and
RoseMary Stephen of Windsor. The most amazing Nonno to Kristin Hanson (Mike),
Madison and Dakota Levesque, Geordon and Lindsay Stephen. Survived by sisters-inlaw
Anna Armaleo, Maria Codispoti and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada,
United States, Australia and Italy. Reunited with his siblings Giuseppe and Teresa
Argiro, Francesco (Teresa) Argiro, Rosa (Giuseppe) Macri, Maria Rosa (Giuseppe)
Cimino, Elisabetta (Nicola) Caristo, Cecilia (Nicola) Audino, Giovanni (Teresa) Argiro,
Anna (Carmelo) Franco, Pasquale (Teresa) Argiro, and Maria (Giuseppe) Cavallo;
sister and brothers-in-law Frances (Tony) Demarco, Concetta (Nino) Calarco, Rosa
(Sam) Gerace, Pino Armaleo and Louis Codispoti. Pietro was a veteran of WWII. After
retiring from the Windsor Separate School Board he spent his time travelling,
gardening, making wine and helped raise his grandchildren. The family would like to
thank the front-line staff at Brouillette Manor for being his second family and for
everything they did for Papa. Thanks also to the entire staff of the Renal Dialysis Unit
(Ouellette Campus) for the exceptional and compassionate care provided to our dad
during the last 3 years of his life. You all go above and beyond. A special thanks to
Doctors Ianicello, Bagga and Cohen, Rose Kadri and 8 west staff at Ouellette Campus
for the care provided to our dad during the past years, and especially during his final
days to make him as comfortable as possible. Thanks to Zack and his crew at Crown
Transport, our Dad's personal "Taxi Drivers". He loved you all... especially your pens!!
Finally, thanks to Adam for playing your guitar during his final days. You were able to
get one last dance out of him!
Visitation will be held at JANISSE FUNERAL HOME, 1139 Ouellette Ave, 519-253-5225
on Thursday 7-9 pm and Friday 2-5 & 7-9 pm. Prayers will be said at the funeral home
on Friday at 8pm. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:30
am until time of procession to ST. ANGELA MERICI CHURCH for Mass of Christian
Burial at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest. Donations to the Renal
Dialysis Unit, Ouellette Campus, Windsor Regional Hospital would be appreciated by
the family. Papa loved life and fought to stay with us right to the end.
